Ricardo Greenough-Guerreiro

Ricardo Greenough-Guerreiro was born in England but grew up in Portimão, Algarve.
After a few years, he returned to the UK where he studied film, in Liverpool and at Farnham Film School – UCA.
Between 2013 and 2022, in addition to studying film and working with video, he filmed and directed some short films: ‘Pena de Anamão’, a portrait of pegoreiras in Alto do Alto Minho, made as part of the residency of MDOC Melgaço International Documentary Film Festival; ‘Platforms and Security’, a documentary and personal journey about CCTV surveillance, which traveled through some school film festivals; ‘O Último Amolador de Tesouras’, a documentary premiered at Fantasporto festival; ‘Memoirs’, the story of a lonely writer dealing with the frustration of living with his heteronyms in his mirror store.
More recently he directed ‘Última Hora’ (‘Breaking News’), a short film that tells the story of Jacinto, a gentleman who is finally given the opportunity to appear as breaking news on television.
She has directed video art pieces such as ‘Sardines in Oil’, a video installation about oil prospecting in the south of Portugal, and ‘The Letter’, a video and installation project based on collecting words around the city and building a video love letter.
He also works as a camera or editing assistant and shoots tele-discs and promotional videos.
With the collective PÁTIO he makes films, archive and video art projects and he also is programmer and producer of Cinema no Estendal, an itinerant short film festival.
